About Me
Building a relationship
based on trust & understanding
I'm Sara—born and raised in the Little Apple (Manhattan, Kansas) to Persian parents. Farsi was actually my first language growing up, and that bicultural upbringing shaped the way I see the world and connect with people.
I did my undergrad at K-State, where I discovered a deep love for working with kids. That passion led me to the University of Kansas for graduate school, where I earned my Master of Social Work. Through my training and over a decade of clinical experience since, I fell in love with helping people from all walks of life—not just children, but teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and everything in between.
My approach blends evidence-based treatments like CBT, EMDR, DBT, and mindfulness-based therapies with genuine warmth and compassion. I believe therapy works best when it's built on trust and real human connection. I'm proud to offer a safe, affirming space for everyone—including LGBTQ+ individuals—and I offer sessions in both English and Farsi. I'm fluent in understanding Farsi and conversational in speaking it—so sessions can be a comfortable mix of both languages.
